Below is a sampling of some actual letters written encouraging Hilary to stop supporting the abuse that is rodeo and bullfighting, and urging companies that employ Hilary as a spokesperson to reconsider their choice. People around the world are appalled that Ms. Duff would choose to align herself with the torturous conditions of these 'sports'. Feel free to use these letters to get ideas for your own. Ms. Susan Curtis Dear Ms. Curtis, Hilary Duff is repelling customers from both Kohl’s and Candie’s Shoes by her continued performance at rodeos and bullfights. While she may profess a love of animals, anyone who truly loves animals is horrified by the heinous cruelty at those events. She cannot continue to generate financial gain for herself (and you) while appearing where animals are treated inhumanely. I have written both Kohl’s and Candie’s Shoes regarding their endorsement of Hilary Duff and her endorsement of the inhumane treatment of animals. She can’t have it both ways: profess to love animals and make money off corporate cruelty. Don't use spokespersons who blatantly disregard cruelty and help promote the places that propagate it! Best, As long as Hilary Duff is connected to Candies, I will not be buying them. She is a promoter of bull fighting -- one the cruelest "sports" still in existence. Having her promote Candies to an ever increasingly enlightened target audience is foolish. Get somebody else. I own an advertising agency/PR firm and I wouldn't touch her for one of my clients! Dear Candies, After you read and view this e-mail, please reconsider employing Hilary Duff as your spokeswoman. She isn't worth the negative publicity you will be receiving from animal lovers worldwide, is she? Can you imagine being one of these poor bulls? Sincerely yours, Dear Kohl's Community Relations: It has come to my attention that one of your promo celebrities will be performing at a bull fighting ring in L.A. Firstly, bullfighting is a cruel and needless practice where animals suffer horribly for the sake of entertainment. This is also true of rodeo's as well. Secondly, Kohl's will not get my business nor my contact's business until you withdraw your support of Hilary and the venue for her music. You can see the planned activity for this event below and scenes of cruelty and it will not generate nice feelings! Sincerely, Dear Candies Foundation: My family and I are very sorry that you picked a person as spokesperson for your foundation that supports and performs at a cruel activity such as bullfighting.
