Cheyenne: Horse Shocking
In order to make 'bucking' horses appear wild, out-of-control, and somehow an equal match for the 'brave' cowboys, these animals are sometimes shocked prior to the opening of the chute. In each of these pictures a small, black prod not much bigger than a mobile phone is seen semi-concealed in the rodeo thugs' hand. Routine shocking of an animal while in the chute is against PRCA's own regulations.
But even more appalling, is the fact that using these "Hot-Shot" electric prods on horses is against the manufacturers' own specifications. Says the company,
"Hot-Shot does not condone the use of the Power-Mite or any Hot-Shot electric prod for use on horses, including horses in a rodeo environment... We only recommend our products be used on hogs and cattle." AND "We do not recommend our products used in rodeos [on any animal]."

Chad Burch was caught shocking animals at both the 2005 and 2006 Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo, against the rodeo's supposed "humane rules." Yet he was neither disciplined nor fined, and the CFD Rodeo received the "Rodeo of the Year" award in 2005 and 2006. Despite public outrage, Burch has even been invited back to the 2007 CFD. Cruelty and corruption pay in the rodeo industry.

"Prods are no longer allowed to be used in bull riding." claims John Davis, PRCA Director of Rodeo Administration. But, here again is the PRCA's "Rodeo of the Year" still shocking bulls.

Despite what the Rodeo Mafia touts, even bulls have to be goaded and tormented into appearing "rank" and "mean" at a rodeo. This bull just received a nasty shock by the man in the blue shirt--against rodeo "rules" not to mention illegal in many other states.

This horse was just shocked by Chad Burch.

As a rodeo judge looks on and does nothing, Chad Burch (black hat) shocks yet another horse. Rodeo judges as "humane enforcers" is nothing more than phony rodeo propaganda.

The man in the brown shirt on the right has just shocked this horse.

Torment before the chute opens is common at the Cheyenne rodeo. This horse had his head pulled and thrust against the chute bars in order to make him appear "wild" coming out of the chute. "Born to buck" is another rodeo lie.

As the chute opens the man in the green shirt has just shocked this horse and another man is pulling the flank strap as tight as possible to torment the horse into "performing." Blood spatters inside yet another chute at CFD show how much these animals are abused.

Again, a rodeo judge looks on as rules and ethics are broken--and does nothing.

The man in the green shirt on the right has just shocked this horse while the man in the purple shirt pulls the flank strap as tight and tormenting as possible. What entertainment!

Apparently this horse was not acting "mean and wild" enough to satisfy the rodeo's standards. The man in the blue shirt is preparing to shock her.
