Man to serve 1 year in jail for shooting, death of Clarissa mother

LONG PRAIRIE — A Staples man will serve one year in jail for the shooting and death of a Clarissa woman, according to a Todd County Court sentencing Monday afternoon.

Tyler James Slagerman, 33, said the death of his fiance, Lacey Kuschel, was an accident.

Slagerman had been out drinking with friends on the night he shot and killed his fiance, according to a criminal complaint against him.
