Further Evidence of Animal Abuse at PRCA RodeosIn 2004, SHARK undertook its largest and most comprehensive rodeo investigation yet. One of our targets was the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). We have footage of animal abuse at PRCA rodeos from coast to coast, and we brought that footage to the PRCA’s National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004. On Tuesday, November 30, 2004 SHARK held a press conference near the NFR in Nevada. We invited and had designated seating ready for many rodeo administrators, contestants, stock contractors, rodeo queens, rodeo announcers, and rodeo sponsors to attend and take responsibility for their actions. We predicted they wouldn’t show—and rodeo people are nothing if not predictable. In spite of all of their macho bluster, the rodeo crowd is a cowardly lot, and refuse to face being caught abusing animals and lying about it. See media coverage of this event. See below for just a tiny sampling of SHARK’s 2004 PRCA rodeo evidence. The PRCA claims that animals are almost never injured at its rodeos. It's a lie. At the National Steer Busting Finals in Amarillo, Texas, held November 19-21, 2004 nine dead or crippled and likely doomed animals were dragged out of the arena. Another staggered out while bleeding from the mouth. So much for these phony cowboys' claims of caring about animals.
