Our History via the Media

Note: Be advised when reviewing our history that the original name of SHARK was the Fox Valley Animal Protectors, named for the area of Illinois where our animal protection efforts began. As the scope of our activity grew, we renamed the organization the Chicago Animal Rights Coalition (CHARC). In the late 1990s, and with our activities expanding to an international level, the name was again changed to the present Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK). We are working diligently to add all available SHARK media coverage. Stay tuned.
