SHARK's Tiger brings Truth to the streets of Hollywood!

After Hilary ignored the requests of SHARK and many of her fans to stop supporting abuse by playing at rodeos and a bullring, we decided to take the message to the streets! On the evening of May 7, 2006 SHARK's Tiger Truck fired up its movie screens on the streets of Los Angeles. Shining mercilessly from four video screens - one in the front, one in the back, and one on each side- was SHARK's latest video of rodeo and bullfighting abuse, Hilary Duff Cruelty. (See the video below.)

The Tiger video truck began its run in the Los Angeles area, prowling through Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade, Westwood, Beverly Hills and down the Sunset Strip, just to name a few areas. Thousands of people, many of them in the same age range as Hilary’s youthful fans, were clearly repulsed by what they were seeing. For a full week the Tiger's message of Hilary Duff's hard heart beaconed throught the LA area.

The Tiger will soon be returning to the public eye. SHARK's rodeo footage was enough to make Starbucks buck the rodeo. Our bullfighting footage was enough to make Pepsi AND Coca-Cola terminate their longstanding relationships with the Bullfighting Mafia. The combination of horrific sights from our rodeo and bullfighting footage on the Tiger's big screens is going to make Hilary wish that she had never stepped foot in these abusive arenas. We hope that because of this campaign and a compassionate place in her heart, that Hilary will choose never to again.

Recent Developments: Tiger's Free Speech Threatened

The appearance of the Tiger video truck in Los Angeles apparently hit the Duff camp very hard. That's understandable. The images of animals brutally treated in rodeos, and bleeding out in bullrings, with a website connecting Hilary Duff to the carnage, undoubtedly hit her public relations people very hard. Soon after leaving California, we received a civil citation from the city of West Hollywood claiming that we violated a ban on advertising via mobile billboards.

This is interesting, since the Tiger has been in West Hollywood on many campaigns in the past five years, spending multiple nights in the area each time, and we have never been cited before. Could it be that the Tiger has passed notice previously? Hardly. SHARK alerts every media outlet in the LA area when we arrive and the Tiger passes police vehicles every night.

More importantly, the law we are being cited under regulates mobile advertising in West Hollywood. The Tiger does not advertise, it engages in protected First Amendment speech. Finally, the Tiger doesn't have billboards. It is therefore our firm belief that the City of West Hollywood's mobile billboard ban has nothing whatsoever to do with us.

But this story gets better. The citation accurately notes that this is the first citation issued to us. The citation form includes three options. The recipient may receive a warning, an order to remedy, or an order to pay. Code Compliance Officer Dave Williams chose to mark the to "Order to Pay Box", with a penalty of $1,050.00. That's right folks “one thousand and fifty dollars"!

Someone in West Hollywood really doesn't like us, and although we'll probably never be able to prove this, I think I smell some Duff stuff here. The Tiger has been in West Hollywood too many times without incident, and then just as the National Enquirer article comes out exposing Hilary Duff, we are cited, not in person when we were there for 7 nights in a row, but by mail, as if someone called the City of West Hollywood afterwards to apply pressure. We were given a ticket in spite of the fact that the truck clearly does not fit the ordinance's description, and in spite of no previous violation, a heavy fine is imposed.

We knew the Tiger would catch the Duff campaign's attention, that's why it was there. Apparently it worked even better than we had hoped!

SHARK will obviously fight this ridiculous attempt to intimidate us and chill our First Amendment rights. We will keep you updated on the developments of this story.
