July 21, 2006: Press Conference to Expose Cruelty, Fiscal Irresponsibility of Tax-Funded Rodeo Finals
Prior to the start of the 2006 National High School Rodeo Association's Finals, SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness held a press conference in Springfield, Illinios at the Capitol Press Room on Friday, July 21, 2006 with intent to expose the cruelty to animals and deplorable use of Illinois tax dollars. The day before the press conference was to be held, astounding actions by the Illinois State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigations added new import to this release. There was a video presentation showing criminal behavior at NHSRA Finals held in Springfield in 2000 and 2001, as well as the Illinois High School Rodeo finals held in Altamont just last June. DVDs and an information pack were available to the media. SHARK president Steve Hindi outlined plans for the upcoming rodeo finals. This included the unveiling of IllinoisCorruption.com to highlight Governor Blagojevich’s support of animal cruelty and fiscal irresponsibility.
