Pigeon Shooters Practice their "Three Cs" - Cruelty, Crime, CowardiceIt has long been known that those who abuse animals are likely to abuse humans as well. That has been well-proven over the past few weeks at Pennsylvania pigeon shoots.
On October 18th, Mike Kobliska, Janet Enoch, my daughter Meghan and I were documenting a pigeon shoot at the misnamed Pike Township "Sportsman's" Club when I was assaulted. The cowardly killer's attack was completely unprovoked. Apparently, because Pennsylvania allows these twisted excuses for human beings to commit the wholesale slaughter of birds, they think they can do it to people, too. Immediately following the assault, I called the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP). The officers who arrived were professional. They reviewed the video evidence, and cited the assailant for harassment. We will update you about this case soon. On December 5, I joined a number of local activists in the Philadelphia, PA area on a miserably cold and wet day to video document a pigeon shoot at the Philadelphia Gun Club when I was again assaulted. Again we called the police, only this time it was the Bensalem Police Department.
Unlike the PSP, the Bensalem Police did not take immediate action. Although the pigeon shooter's attack was video documented, the responding officer refused to arrest or take any action whatsoever against the assailant. Instead, the officer said I would have to go file a complaint with the local district justice on the following Monday! What is really crazy is that the police were called by the assailant too, who admitted what he did! After exchanging letters with the Bensalem Director of Public Safety (the equivalent of a police chief), I was contacted by a Bensalem Police Detective. After reviewing the video we supplied them, he agreed a charge should be brought. We will update you on this case as it continues to unfold. It should be noted that the Philadelphia Gun Club is said to have very rich and powerful members, and we've been told that annual membership dues are something like $20,000 annually! I guess that leaves club members feeling even more entitled to do whatever they want than the average run-of-the-swamp pigeon killers.
What these folks are going to find out is that SHARK isn't impressed by their money, or for that matter whatever political power they may think they have or whom they may have bought. Over the next few days we will be posting new YouTube videos exposing these supposedly classy killers for the sickening animal abusing/killing cowards they truly are. Finally, last Sunday, December 14, I was again assaulted - this time by an individual whose apparent sole purpose for being there was to attack me. The perpetrator drove up in a pickup truck, got out and started making threats to smash my camera. When I turned the camera on the perpetrator, he hit the camera so hard the lens ring went flying off.
Unfortunately for this assailant, new SHARK volunteer Alexis Tsiouris had seen his approach, identified him as a possible threat and video documented the attack. The moment after the guy hit my video camera, he saw that he had been nabbed by Alexis, and the goon got this incredibly funny look of a loser who just realized he was toast. The assailant quickly headed back to his pick-up which he had simply left in the road. The attack temporarily knocked out my camera's auto-focus, so I yelled to Alexis to film the assailant's license plate. The cowardly attacker was now in full escape mode, slamming his truck into reverse and hitting the gas. He zipped backwards until he reached the killing club's parking lot, where he quickly backed in and then disappeared into the back of the lot where he vanished.
Those milling around the club appeared only too willing to help aid the coward's escape. On Monday I delivered video evidence of the latest assault to the Pennsylvania State Police. I believe they will find the assailant, and that he will be prosecuted. We will keep you updated on this and the other assaults, and send you links as YouTube videos are posted. But there was even more that happened at the latest pigeon shoot. Four thugs attended the shoot for the sole purpose of harassing and attempting to obstruct our documentation.
First they started taking video and photos of us, which of course didn't matter to us at all. They had every right to do that, just as we have every right to video record and take photos of the pigeon killers. Obviously upset at our lack of response to their efforts, these four started actively blocking our efforts to document the pigeon slaughter. But as hard as they tried, we were still able to obtain overwhelming evidence of indefensible cruelty and death.
These goons may rest assured that our documentation of both the animal cruelty and deaths and their efforts to obstruct us will be showing up on our websites and YouTube very soon.
The bottom line here is that in spite of the ongoing pigeon slaughters in Pennsylvania, our efforts are driving the pigeon killers nuts. When our documentation starts flooding the worldwide web, these killers, their supporters and hit men are going to be hiding like the pitiful losers they truly are.
