SAN ANTONIO -- A man investigators say was wanted for kidnapping and raping his ex-girlfriend in Arizona was captured at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.

Glenn Leo Gagnon, 52, of Tucson was arrested Sunday by officers with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. According to police in Arizona, Gagnon kidnapped his former girlfriend at knife-point on January 7th and drove her to a remote area where he sexually assaulted her and then locked her in the trunk of her car. The woman was able to free herself several hours later.

Investigators obtained information that Gagnon was working at a carnival in Corpus Christi, but then discovered he had left and was working at a carnival in San Antonio. The Lone Star Fugutive Task Force then tracked him to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Officers then quickly located and arrested him.

"This arrest is the result of the quick actions taken by multiple district task forces," said Robert Almonte of the U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Texas. "The ability to reach across state lines and request assistance in a timely manner is the key to apprehending these kinds of criminals."

Gagnon is now at the Bexar County Jail awaiting extradition back to Arizona.
